The women's volleyball team completed a tri-match sweep on Saturday afternoon at Bard College. First, the Bloodhounds defeated Bard, 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-19), and then defeated Bay Path, 3-0. John Jay has now won four straight games and is 5-9 overall.
In what was a three set win over Bard College, freshman
Rachel Eng picked up 12 kills, 4 service aces and 3 digs while fellow teammate
Latanya Buckham totaled 11 kills and 11 digs. Junior libero,
Perla Pozo tallied 19 digs for the match.
The Bloodhounds then defeated Bay Path College in three sets to conclude their sweep. Once again, Eng came up big for the Bloodhounds, with 9 kills, 9 digs and 3 service aces and Buckham finished with 4 kills, 7 digs and 3 service aces. Pozo added another 6 digs to give her 25 digs for the day.
The Bloodhounds travel to the College of Staten Island on Monday, October 13, for a CUNYAC Multi-Match. John Jay will face Medgar Evers and Brooklyn College.
