The women's basketball team lost to the College of Saint Elizabeth, 66-62, on Monday night in Morristown, NJ. The Bloodhounds drop to 3-11 on the season. The Eagles improve to 7-6.

Amber Villegas made two free-throws to increase the lead to five.
With 12:38 remaining in the first half, CSE went on a 7-0 run to take the lead, 16-15. The next five minutes consisted of six lead changes and with 4:20 left, John Jay trailed 29-24. Diaz ended the half by hitting a jumper to cut the deficit to 38-33.
The Bloodhounds went 13-for 32 (40.63%) from the floor in the first 20 minutes. The Eagles shot 51.72% (15-for-29) from the field.
Two minutes into the second half, the hosts increased their lead to seven. With 12:27 left in the contest, the Bloodhounds trailed 47-40. Sophomore
Brianna Cunningham and Diaz then connected on jumpers and Chu tied the game on a three-pointer.
The Eagles regained the lead and jumpers by Cunningham and freshman
Victoria Royal gave the Bloodhounds a one-point lead. CSE then went on a 7-0 run to put them back on top, 57-51 with 6:34 remaining.
Late in the half, Saint Elizabeth increased its lead to 11. John Jay ended the game on a 7-0 run but would go on to fall, 66-62.
Chu led all scorers with 22 points, on 8-for-14 shooting. The Rockaway native went 6-for-9 from behind the arc. Cunningham recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 15 points, 11 rebounds, two blocks, two assists, and two steals. Diaz registered 15 points and dished out a team-high six assists. Royal grabbed nine rebounds and swiped a team-high three steals. Villegas added five assists and senior
Aneska Tejada had four rebounds.
The Bloodhounds face Lehman College on Wednesday, January 21, at 5:00 p.m. The game will be played at the College of Staten Island.
