The women's basketball team lost to Brooklyn College, 73-58, on Friday evening in Brooklyn, NY. The Bloodhounds fall to 3-13 on the season and 3-7 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Bulldogs improve to 12-5 overall and 9-1 in the conference.
Brooklyn started the game by registering the first 15 of 17 points of the contest. Four minutes in, John Jay went on a 7-0 run to cut the deficit to six. The Bulldogs responded right away by countering with a 10-0 run of their own to increase its lead to, 25-9.

Early on in the second half, Brooklyn increased its lead to 17. The Bloodhounds followed that with a 10-0 run, as junior
Terri Chu hit two three-pointers. With just under nine minutes left in the contest, John Jay got within six points. Unfortunately, that was the closest the Bloodhounds would get to tying the game.
Junior
Amber Villegas led the Bloodhounds with her second double-double of the season with a team-high 16 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and one block. Royal picked up her fourth double-double in the last five games and fifth of the season. The Bronx native recorded 12 points and a game-high 20 rebounds. Chu added 10 points and
Josephine Diaz dished out a team-high four assists. Sophomore
Brianna Cunningham finished with nine points and five rebounds and senior
Aneska Tejada swiped a team-high three steals.
John Jay finished shooting an impressive 41.9% (18-for-43) from the field. In comparison, Brooklyn went 29-for-78 (37.2%) from the floor.
The Bloodhounds are back at it on Monday, January 26, when they travel to St. Joseph's College Brooklyn for a 7 p.m. non-conference game.
