The women's volleyball team defeated St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-16), on Thursday evening in Brooklyn, NY. With the win, the Bloodhounds improve to 4-9 on the season. The Bears drop to 4-7 overall.

Savannah Davis picked up double-doubles for the Bloodhounds. Zapanta dished out a game-high 30 assists, to go along with 13 digs, three kills, and on ace. Senior
Latanya Buckham and Davis combined for 20 kills, 28 digs, three assists, and two service aces. Eng registered 11 kills, 11 digs, and on ace. Senior
Perla Pozo added 11 digs and freshman
Nyla Lloyd-Clarke had six kills and a game-high three blocks.
John Jay started off the match by going on an 8-1 run in the first set. The Bloodhounds then went on a 5-0 run to lead 14-3. The Bears made a late comeback but John Jay was able to hold on for a 25-21 win.
The second set began with both teams exchanging points until the Bloodhounds went on a 5-1 run to lead 9-4. St. Joseph's would eventually tie the set at 21 apiece. John Jay took the set after ending on a 4-2 run to lead two sets to none.
The Bears took an early 4-1 lead in the third but the Bloodhounds responded to tie the set at 4-4. John Jay then went on a 7-2 lead to take an 11-6 advantage. With the Bloodhounds leading 19-13, John Jay recorded five of the next six points and took the set, 25-16.
John Jay totaled 43 kills, 35 assists, 66 digs, six service aces, and five blocks.
The Bloodhounds travel to Kings Point for a Multi-Match on Friday, October 9, and Saturday, October 10. John Jay faces Lehman College and USMMA on Friday and Kean on Saturday.
