The men's volleyball team split their first two matches of the season on Saturday at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds start the season 1-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
John Jay fell to Hunter College, 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-22), in their first match. Junior
Jack Palleschi and freshman Juan DeJuses combined for 16 kills and 11 digs. Junior
Nicholas Anderson dished out a game-high 22 assists to go along with four kills and four digs. Senior
Yevgeniy Remennik recorded three kills and six digs.
The Bloodhounds followed that up with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-19) win over the Beavers of CCNY. In the match, Palleschi registered a game-high 12 kills, seven digs, and one block. Anderson picked up 24 assists, three kills, and seven digs. Remennik and DeJusus totaled 14 kills, four service aces, two assists, and 14 digs.
The Bloodhounds will travel to Medgar Evers College on Wednesday, February 11, for a conference match at 7 pm.
