The men's volleyball team split in a CUNYAC Multi-Match at City College on Saturday afternoon. The Bloodhounds defeated the College of Staten Island, 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-18), but then fell to #10 Baruch College, 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-13). John Jay is now 11-10 overall and 9-6 in the CUNY Athletic Conference.
In the match against the Dolphins of CSI, junior
Jack Palleschi recorded a game-high 14 kills and five kills. Junior
Nicholas Anderson registered a game-high 28 assists to go along with seven kills, two aces, and five digs. Senior
Yevgeniy Remennik led the Bloodhounds in digs with 12, and also had five kills and four assists. Freshman
Juan DeJesus finished with seven kills, two service aces, and seven digs. Freshman
Brandon Dolores added six digs.
The Bloodhounds had 35 kills, 35 assists, six aces, 41 digs, and 13 blocking attempts in the match.
In game two of the day against the Bearcats of Baruch, Remennik finished with a team-high 10 kills, six digs, two assists, and one ace. Anderson dished out 18 assists to go along with three kills and one solo block. Palleschi registered seven kills, four digs, two aces, and three solo blocks. DeJesus had five kills and six digs.
John Jay finished with 28 kills, 22 assists, three service aces, 24 digs, and four solo blocks.
The Bloodhounds will close out the season on the road in Brooklyn when they face Brooklyn College on Tuesday, March 31, at 6 p.m.
