The women's volleyball team opened up conference play for a CUNYAC Multi-Match on Saturday afternoon on the campus of City College. The Bloodhounds defeated the College of Staten Island, 3-1 (25-19, 21-25, 25-14, 25-20), but then fell to Baruch College, 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-21). John Jay is now 3-3 on the year and 1-1 in the CUNY Athletic Conference.
In the match against the Dolphins of CSI, sophomore
Rachel Eng and senior
Latanya Buckham finished with 11 kills each. Junior
Katrina Zapanta dished out a game-high 30 assists. Sophomore
Kimberly Wright recorded nine kills.
Against the Baruch Bearcats, Buckham led the team with a team-high five kills and seven digs. Eng finished with four kills, a game-high five service aces, and six digs. Zapanta registered 14 assists, six digs, two aces, and two kills. Sophomore
Savannah Davis had four kills and five digs and senior
Perla Pozo added seven digs and three assists.Â
The Bloodhounds travel to Hunter College on Tuesday, September 15, for a conference match starting at 6 p.m.Â
