The women's volleyball team collected their first win of the 2015 campaign when they defeated SUNY Old Westbury, 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-20) on Tuesday evening in Old Westbury, NY. The Bloodhounds improve to 1-2 on the season. The Panthers drop to 0-1. 

Senior Latanya Buckham led John Jay in kills with a game-high 10 to go along with five digs and two service aces. Senior Katrina Zapanta dished out a game-high 25 assists and registered six kills and two digs. Sophomore Rachel Eng recorded eight kills, a game-high five aces, and eight digs. Sophomore Savannah Davis picked up six kills, four assists, four digs, and two aces. Senior Perla Pozo added eight digs. 

In the first set with the Bloodhounds leading 11-9, the visitors went on a 9-1 run to take the opening set. John Jay began the next set by taking the first six points. The rest of the set consisted of both teams collecting consecutive points but the Bloodhounds ended the set on an 8-6 run. In the third and final set, the Panthers had the early lead but John Jay tied it at nine apiece. The Bloodhounds went on an 8-2 run to take the match by a score of 3-0. 

John Jay totaled 39 kills, 36 assists, 11 service aces, and 29 digs.
