The women's basketball team lost to Centenary College (NJ), 68-49, on Monday evening at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds drop to 4-13 on the year. The Cyclones improve to 10-7.
Freshman
Karen Rosario recorded her third double-double of the season with a game-high 21 points, a game-high 16 rebounds, and a game-high four blocks. Senior

Josephine Diaz had eight points, four rebounds, two assists, and one steal. Junior
Shaliyah Ruiz registered eight points, seven rebounds, a team-high three assists, and two steals. Junior
Cassandra Taylor picked up two assists, two blocks and two steals.
Centenary started the game on a 7-0 run but John Jay cut the deficit to 9-7 with 4:26 left in the quarter. The Bloodhounds took their first lead, 12-11 but the Cyclones regained the lead in their next possession. John Jay led 18-16 after one. Centenary opened the second on a 5-0 run to take a three-point lead. With 4:58 left in the half, the score was tied at 23 apiece. The guests closed the period on a 12-5 run to lead 35-28 heading into halftime.
Three minutes into the third, the Cyclones increased its lead to 10. With 2:11 remaining in the quarter, the visitors had a 50-34 advantage. The fourth quarter went back-and-forth as Centenary held on for a 68-49 win.
John Jay went 18-for-54 (33.3%) from the floor, 6-for-22 (27.3%) from behind the arc, and 7-for-10 (70%) from the charity stripe.
The Bloodhounds travel to the College of Staten Island on Wednesday, January 27, for a conference game at 5:30 pm.
