The women's volleyball team fell to Vassar College, 3-0 (25-7, 25-9, 25-8), and Rutgers-Camden, 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-23), on Saturday afternoon in Poughkeepsie, NY. The Bloodhounds drop to 6-6 on the season.
In the match against the Brewers of Vassar, junior
Rachel Eng finished with a team-high four kills, one ace, and game-high 12 digs. Senior
Katrina Zapanta recorded nine assists and six digs. Senior
Jeanette Luna and junior
Savannah Davis combined for three kills and eight digs.
Against the Scarlet Raptors of Rutgers-Camden, Eng notched a double-double with a team-high 10 kills, a team-high 13 digs, and two aces. Freshman
Nyla Lloyd-Clarke picked up eight kills, three digs, and the Bloodhounds' lone solo block. Zapanta also notched a double-double with a team-high 20 assists and 11 digs. Luna had a team-high four aces.
For the day, John Jay totaled 37 kills, 32 assists, seven service aces, and 77 digs.
The Bloodhounds travel to Western Connecticut State on Thursday, October 6, for a non-conference match at 7:00 pm.
