Box Score The women's tennis team defeated St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, 6-3, on Friday afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY. The Bloodhounds improve to 4-5. The Bears drop to 2-10. 

John Jay's top doubles team of junior Bernarda Reyes and sophomore Viktoriia Plisenko was victorious, 8-2. At number two, the duo of senior Gabriela Baez and freshman Angelica Lozando Pena cruised to an 8-1 victory. 

Head into singles play, the Bloodhounds led 2-1. Reyes (#1) and Plisenko (#2) won easily, 6-2, 6-3, and 6-1, 6-1, respectively. At number three, Baez came out with a 6-2, 6-2 victory. In the fourth spot, Lozando Pena won 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-6). 

Before the match, the Athletics Department honored Gabriela Baez and Viktoriia Plisenko as part of Senior Day. 

The Bloodhounds close out the season on Friday, October 21, when they host Sarah Lawrence College at 4:30 pm at the USTA National Tennis Center.
