The #3 women's volleyball team shutout #6 CCNY, 3-0 (25-16, 25-8, 25-16), in the quarterfinals on Tuesday evening at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds improve to 12-11 on the year. The Beavers end the season with an overall record of 7-22.

Rachel Eng registered her sixth double-double of the season with a game-high 11 kills, a game-high 13 digs, and five service aces. Senior
Katrina Zapanta dished out a game-high 31 assists to go along with seven digs, three kills, and one ace. Sophomore
Nyla Lloyd-Clarke recorded eight kills and senior
Jeanette Luna added five kills, five aces, and nine digs. Senior

The first set went back-and-forth as John Jay led 12-11. The Bloodhounds then went on a 6-1 run to lead 18-12. The hosts ended the set on a 4-1 run to take the set, 25-16. In the second with the score tied at one apiece, John Jay fired off five straight points. Up 8-4, the Bloodhounds went on a 16-2 run to take a large lead. John Jay took the middle set, 25-8. The Bloodhounds began the final period on a 7-1 run. John Jay ended the set on a 6-3 run to take the match, 25-16.
John Jay totaled 38 kills, 36 assists, 13 service aces, and 43 digs.
The Bloodhounds will now take on #2 Baruch College in the CUNYAC Semifinals on Friday, November 4, at 4:00 pm at Baruch's ARC Arena.
