The women's volleyball team swept the College of Staten Island, 3-0 (25-21, 26-24, 25-20) on Thursday evening at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds improve to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in CUNYAC. The Dolphins fall to 2-3 and 1-2 in the conference.

Rachel Eng recorded her third double-double of the season with 10 kills, a game-high 16 digs, and a game-high six service aces. Sophomore
Nyla Lloyd-Clarke totaled 10 kills. Senior
Jeanette Luna finished with seven kills and eight digs. Senior
Katrina Zapanta dished out a game-high 26 assists to go along with five digs, four kills, and three aces. Freshman

Savannah Davis added five kills.
In the first set, the Bloodhounds took an early 4-1 lead but Staten Island rallied off nine straight points to go up 10-4. With CSI up 19-15, John Jay ended the set on a 10-2 run to take the first game, 25-21. Down by two in the second, the Bloodhounds scored three straight points to lead by one. With the score tied at 11, both teams exchanged 3-0 runs. John Jay led 23-17 before the Dolphins registered five straight points to trail by one. The Bloodhounds eventually took the second set by a score of 26-24. In the final game, John Jay took an early 7-1 lead only to see Staten Island tie it at seven apiece. The Bloodhounds fired off five straight points and would not look back as they completed the sweep by a score of 25-20.
John Jay totaled 40 kills, 38 assists, 13 service aces, and 42 digs.
The Bloodhounds travel to Dover, DE for a non-conference multi-match. John Jay takes on Wesley College at 1:00 pm followed by Washington Adventist University at 3:00 pm.
