The women's volleyball team swept York College, 3-0 (25-10, 25-12, 25-16) on Thursday evening at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds improve to 5-4 overall and 3-1 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Cardinals drop to 2-10 and 1-3 in CUNYAC.

Rachel Eng led John Jay with a game-high 11 kills, a game-high six digs, and four service aces. Senior
Katrina Zapanta dished out a game-high 18 assists to go along with a game-high seven service aces. Sophomore
Nyla Lloyd-Clarke finished with five kills and senior
Bridgette Sarco registered four aces. Senior
Jeanette Luna added five digs and freshman
Kimberly Rodriguez had four aces.
Trailing 3-1 in the first set, the Bloodhounds rallied off five straight points. Leading 12-7, John Jay took the first set after ending on a 13-3 run. The Bloodhounds started the second with 11 straight points. Later on in the set, John Jay had runs of 4-0 and 6-0 to lead two games to none. The third set went back-and-forth as the Bloodhounds led 10-9. John Jay fired off six straight points and would go on to complete the sweep.
John Jay totaled 27 kills, 18 assists, 24 service aces, and 20 digs.
The Bloodhounds travel to City College on Tuesday, September 27, for a conference match at 7:00 pm.
