The women's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-21) win over City College (CCNY) on Tuesday night in New York, NY. The Bloodhounds are off to its best start in program history with a 4-1 conference record and 6-4 overall record. The Beavers fall to 4-6 and 2-3 in CUNYAC.

Rachel Eng fell one dig shy of a double-double with a team-high 13 kills, a team-high nine digs, two aces, and a game-high two blocks. Senior
Katrina Zapanta dished out a game-high 18 assists and registered five digs and a game-high four service aces. Sophomore
Nyla Lloyd-Clarke recorded nine kills and senior
Jeanette Luna finished with eight digs. Junior
Savannah Davis added four kills and five digs.
John Jay started the first set on a 5-1 run and later led 13-7. The guests closed out the set on a 5-2 run to win, 25-16. After CCNY led 3-2 in the second, the Bloodhounds scored four straight points to go up by 6-3. Later on in the set with the Beavers leading 16-11, John Jay ended on a 9-1 run to lead by two games. In the final stanza, both teams exchanged points as the score was tied at six apiece. CCNY's largest lead came at 14-9 but John Jay responded with 12 straight points to complete the shutout.
John Jay currently stands at second place in the conference standings. The Bloodhounds travel to Poughkeepsie, NY for a non-conference tri-match. John Jay faces Vassar College at 11:00 am followed by Rutgers-Camden at 1:00 pm.
