The men's volleyball team fell in their season opener to Kean University, 3-0 (25-15, 25-6, 25-11), on Wednesday evening in Union, NJ. The Bloodhounds start the season 0-1. The Cougars improve to 5-0. 

Junior Juan DeJesus led John Jay with a game-high eight kills and a team-high seven digs. Freshman Steven Alvarado dished out a team-high 14 assists in his collegiate debut. Senior Francisco Miranda and freshman Ryan Willix finished with four digs each. Junior Alexander Santana had the Bloodhounds' lone service ace.

John Jay finished with 15 kills, 15 assists, and 25 digs. 

The Bloodhounds travel to Brooklyn, NY on Friday, January 20, to take on St. Joseph's College Brooklyn at 5:00 pm.
