Box Score The women's tennis team came out on top, 5-4, in a nail-biter against Lehman College on Tuesday afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY. The Bloodhounds improve to 6-3 on the year and 3-2 in CUNYAC. The Lightning drop to 4-10 and 3-2 in conference play.

Gabriela de Armas and
Gabrielle Schuck fought back to take second doubles, 9-8 (10-8). After doubles play, Lehman led 2-1.
At number two singles, junior
Rageene Berry cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory to tie the score at two apiece. Berry remains undefeated in singles at 8-0. The Bloodhounds took its first lead after de Armas came out on top 6-1, 6-4 at three. This time, the Lightning tied the score after winning top singles. With the score knotted at 3-3, Lehman took six singles but sophomore
Angelica Lozano won at five, 6-3, 6-2, to once again tie the score.
The match would then be decided at three singles. After Schuck lost the first set, the freshman came back to take the second, 6-4. The East Northport, NY native took an early 3-0 lead in the third but Lehman tied it at three apiece. Schuck responded capturing the next two games to lead 5-4 only to see the Lightning cut the deficit to 5-4. Schuck then took the sixth game to give the Bloodhounds a 5-4 win.
The Bloodhounds' final home game of the season will be on Thursday, October 12, at 4:00 pm at the USTA National Tennis Center against Farmingdale State College. Before the match, the Athletics Department will honor its four seniors Rageene Berry, Rachael Clemons, Dominique Dawkins, and Bernarda Reyes.
