The women's volleyball team defeated the College of Staten Island, 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-18) on Thursday night in Staten Island, NY. With the win, the Bloodhounds get back to .500 at 10-10 and improve to 5-2 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Dolphins fall to 5-15 and 4-4 in the conference.

Brittany Steele recorded her ninth double-double of the season with a match-high 16 kills, 15 digs, and two aces. Sophomore
Kimberly Rodriguez dished out a game-high 25 assists and junior
Nyla Lloyd-Clarke registered seven kills. Freshman

With the Bloodhounds trailing 4-3 in the first set, John Jay rallied off four straight points but CSI bounced back on a 5-0 run. The Bloodhounds responded on an 8-1 run to lead 14-10. With John Jay up 16-14, the Bloodhounds went on a 6-2 run to take the opening set. John Jay began the second winning 11 of the first 14 points. The Dolphins cut the deficit to 17-11 but the Bloodhounds recorded the final three points to hold a 2-0 advantage.
The third went back-and-forth as the score was tied 6-6. John Jay then picked up four straight points but CSI fought back to trail 15-14. The Bloodhounds took seven of the final nine points to complete the sweep.
John Jay totaled 37 kills, 31 assists, seven service aces, and 55 digs.
