Box Score The #4 women's tennis team defeated the top seeded College of Staten Island, 5-4, in a back-and-forth match on Friday afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Center. The Bloodhounds improve to 10-3 while the Dolphins conclude their season at 7-4.

Rageene Berry quickly got John Jay on the scoreboard in doubles. CSI eventually won second and third doubles to lead 2-1 heading into singles play.Â
Berry collected her second win of the day at two singles when she came out on top 6-1, 6-0. CSI won in the sixth spot but freshman
Gabriela de Armas tied the score at three apiece after delivering a 6-3, 6-4 win. Reyes recorded the victory at the top spot, 6-2, 6-2 as the Dolphins won at five to once again even the score 4-4.
Four singles would end up deciding the match.
Gabrielle Schuck dropped the first set but bounced back to take the second, 6-2. The freshman led much of the third to eventually win the set, 6-3 and clinch the match for the Bloodhounds.Â

This is women's tennis' first CUNYAC Championship appearance since the 2004 season. In addition, this is John Jay's first appearance in the finals since the men's basketball team during the 2012-2013 season.Â
