The women's volleyball team lost two matches on Saturday afternoon at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds fell to William Paterson University, 3-0 (25-12, 25-8, 25-15), and Wesley College, 3-1 (25-19, 20-25, 25-9, 25-19). John Jay falls to 4-2 on the season.
Against WPU, junior
Mballou Berete recorded a team-high nine kills and two service aces. Sophomore
Kimberly Rodriguez dished out a team-high 16 assists to go along with four digs. Freshman
Brianna Geraldo had five kills and nine digs. Senior
Anna Gevorgyan added nine digs.
In the match against Wesley, junior
Brittany Steele registered 10 kills and eight digs. Berete finished with 10 kills, five digs, and a game-high five service aces. Rodriguez recorded a game-high 31 assists and eight digs. Geraldo tallied a game-high 10 digs to go along with four kills. Junior
Nyla Lloyd-Clarke had nine kills and freshman
Nicole Aguasvivas added eight digs.
For the day, John Jay totaled 59 kills, 57 assists, 14 service aces, and 84 digs.
The Bloodhounds travel to Scranton, PA on Friday, September 22, for a non-conference tri-match. John Jay will take on Marywood University at 6:00 pm followed by University of Scranton at 8:00 pm.
