Box Score The women's tennis team lost a tough match to Baruch College, 5-4, on Friday afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY. The Bloodhounds fall to 4-2 overall and 2-2 in CUNYAC. The Bearcats improve to 3-2 and 1-1 in the conference.
John Jay's top doubles duo of senior
Bernarda Reyes and junior
Rageene Berry won at number one, 8-2. The tandem is now 3-1 on the year and a perfect 3-0 in conference play. The Bloodhounds trailed 2-1 after doubles.
John Jay won its top three singles matches. Berry cruised to a 6-3, 6-3 victory at two to remain undefeated at 6-0 in singles. Freshman
Gabriela de Armas came out with the victory at number three, 7-5, 7-5. After dropping the first set at the top spot, Reyes came back to win 6-7, 6-2, 7-6 (10-5).
The Bloodhounds face St. Joseph's College Brooklyn on Thursday, October 5, at 7:00 pm back at the USTA NTC.
