The women's volleyball team dropped two non-conference matches in Dallas, PA on Saturday afternoon. John Jay lost to Mount Saint Mary College, 3-2 (26-28, 25-21, 19-25, 30-28, 15-11) and Misericordia, 3-1 (25-20, 22-25, 25-18, 25-19). The Bloodhounds fall to 5-6 on the season.
In the match against MSMC,
Brittany Steele recorded her second double-double of the season with a game-high and season-high 27 kills and 17 digs. Freshman
Brianna Geraldo picked up her first collegiate double-double with 10 kills and 15 digs. Sophomore
Kimberly Rodriguez also registered her first double-double of the year with a game-high 48 assists and 14 digs. Senior
Anna Gevorgyan finished with a game-high and season-high 20 digs. Junior
Mballou Berete added 10 kills and a team-high four service aces. Freshman
Nicole Aguasvivas had seven digs.
Against Misericordia, Steele tallied another double-double with a game-high 12 kills, a game-high 17 digs, and a team-high three service aces. Rodriguez dished out a game-high 36 assists to go along with six digs. Geraldo finished one kill shy of a double-double with nine kills and 10 digs. Berete and junior
Nyla Lloyd-Clarke recorded nine and six kills, respectively. Junior
Hualeska Garcia had two aces.
John Jay totaled 95 kills, 90 assists, 20 service aces, 28 total blocks, and 126 digs.
