Women's Volleyball Powers by Medgar Evers; Sophia Wheelman & Dayna Hunter Register Seven Kills Each

The women's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 (25-20, 25-11, 25-18) victory over Medgar Evers on Thursday evening at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds improve to 11-7 and finish their conference schedule with a 5-3 record. The Cougars drop to 2-19 and 1-6 in CUNYAC. 

Freshman Sophia Wheelan finished with a career-high seven kills and career-high three service aces. Rookie Dayna Hunter recorded a season-high seven kills. Junior Kimberly Rodriguez notched a match-high 24 assists and four aces.

Sophomore Isatou Darboe registered a career-high five kills and freshman Stephanie Marcano added four service aces. Sophomore Sherine Bachtarzi picked up a career-high and match-high seven digs and three aces. Junior Allison Williams had four kills and sophomore Nicole Aguasvivas added three aces. 

John Jay finished with 26 kills, 24 assists, 19 service aces, and 17 digs. 

The Bloodhounds travel to Newark, NJ on Saturday, October 20, for a non-conference tri-match. John Jay will face FDU Florham at 1:00 pm, followed by Rutgers-Newark at 3:00 pm.
