The women's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-22) shutout win over City College (CCNY) on Tuesday night at the Nat Holman Gymnasium. The Bloodhounds get back to .500 on the season at 6-6 and improve to 2-3 in CUNYAC. The Beavers drop to 6-7 and 2-3 in the conference.
Sophomore
Brianna Geraldo picked up her team-leading seventh double-double of the year with a match-high 12 kills and 10 digs. Junior
Kimberly Rodriguez recorded a game-high 31 assists, six digs, and four service aces. Freshman
Niovis Monsanto tallied 10 kills and six digs.
Senior
Mballou Berete and freshman
Dayna Hunter had six and four kills, respectively. Sophomore
Nicole Aguasvivas added four aces and freshman Stephanie Mercano notched a match-high 15 digs and three aces.
John Jay totaled 36 kills, 36 assists, 46 digs, and 16 service aces.
The Bloodhounds return to the Doghouse on Thursday, October 4, for a non-conference match against Maritime College at 7:00 pm.
