The women's volleyball team picked up its first conference win of the season after defeating York College, 3-0 (25-8, 25-18, 25-4), on Thursday night at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds improve to 3-3 on the season and 1-3 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Cardinals drop to 0-7 and 0-4 in conference play. 

Freshman Stephanie Marcano finished with a game-high 12 digs and three service aces. Junior Kimberly Rodriguez fell one ace shy of a double-double with a match-high 18 assists and a season-high and game-high nine service aces. Freshman Niovis Monsanto registered six kills and six aces. Sophomore Brianna Geraldo tallied a match-high seven kills and seven digs. Junior Mirialis Almanzar added five kills and sophomore Sherine Bachtarzi had a season-high four aces. 

John Jay totaled 28 kills, 23 assists, 27 service aces, 22 digs, and three total blocks. 

The Bloodhounds travel to Wayne, NJ on Saturday, September 22, for a non-conference tri-match. John Jay will face Cedar Crest College at 1:00 pm followed by William Paterson at 3:00 pm.
