The women's basketball team rolled past Medgar Evers, 73-50, on Monday evening at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds improve to 7-5 overall and 3-2 in the conference. The Cougars drop to 0-14 and 0-6 in CUNYAC.

All'aha Albright recorded a season-high and game-high 28 points, making six three-pointers, to go along with six rebounds. Freshman
Katie Healy tallied her fourth double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 boards.

Karen Rosario came off the bench to register her first double-double with 10 points, a team-high 14 boards, and a career-high and game-high seven steals.
Medgar Evers took an early 7-3 lead but Gorman made a jumper and Albright sank a three to give the Bloodhounds their first lead of the game. That ignited an 11-0 run as John Jay held a 17-9 advantage at the end of one.
Rosario scored four of the first five points for the Bloodhounds in the second as John Jay led 22-9. Up by 14, Healy made back-to-back layups and Albright connected on a jumper to increase the lead to 32-12. Heading into halftime, the Bloodhounds held a 40-24 lead.
Trailing by 18, the visitors went on an 8-2 run to trim the deficit to 48-36. Albright and Gorman responded with two straight baskets. Albright ended the period with another three-pointer as John Jay led 55-41 at the end of the third.
Ninety seconds in, the Cougars trailed 57-45. Like most of the night, Healy hit a layup and Albright made a deep three to increase the lead back up to 17. The Bloodhounds would cruise to their third win in their last four games.
John Jay finished 28-for-82 (34.1%) from the floor, 7-for-18 (38.9%) from behind the arc, and 10-for-18 (55.6%) from the free-throw line.
The Bloodhounds are back in action on Wednesday, January 9, when they travel to York College for a conference game at 5:30 pm.
