in a back-and-forth game, the women's basketball team came out with a 66-62 win over the College at Old Westbury on Tuesday evening at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds improve to 2-2 on the season. The Panthers drop to 0-3 overall.

All'aha Albright led the offense with her first double-double of the season with a season-high and team-high 22 points, season-high and team-high 10 rebounds, and career-high and team-high seven assists. Sophomore
Lily Rakitzis finished with 15 points and sophomore
Katie Healy came off the bench to register 15 points, seven boards, and two steals.
Senior
Nyasha Howard recorded six rebounds and a team-high four steals. Sophomore
Jada Rencher added seven points off the bench.
The first half went back-and-forth as both teams exchanged baskets. At the end of one, the score was tied 17-17. With the game tied at 21 apiece in the second, Healy made a jumper and Albright converted on a unique four-point play to give the Bloodhounds a six-point advantage. With 2:25 left in the half, the Panthers cut the deficit to three but Rakitzis and Rencher made two straight baskets to give John Jay a 32-25 lead at the half.
The Bloodhounds increased the advantage to 10 in the third but Old Westbury followed on a 15-4 run to hold a 42-41 lead. A late layup by the Panthers tied up the game, 49-49, heading into the final period.
Four-and-a-half minutes into the fourth, the visitors held a 59-55 advantage. Down by two, Albright sank a three-pointer to give John Jay the lead. That was all they needed as the Bloodhounds followed with big defensive stops to hold on for the non-conference victory.
John Jay finished 24-for-62 (38.7%) from the floor, 5-for-18 (27.8%) from behind the arc, and 13-for-25 (52.0%) from the free-throw line.
The Bloodhounds travel to the College of Mount Saint Vincent on Thursday, November 21, for a non-conference game at 6:00 pm.
