The women's basketball team fell to Manhattanville College, 80-66, on Homecoming on Tuesday night at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds drop to 2-4 on the season. The Valiants improve to 3-1 overall.

Nyasha Howard led the offense with a game-high 21 points, game-high 11 rebounds, game-high four assists, two steals, and a pair of blocks. It was her third double-double of the season. Sophomore

Katie Healy fell one rebound shy of a double-double with 11 points, nine rebounds, and three assists. Senior
All'aha Albright finished with nine boards, eight points, and a team-high three steals. Sophomore
Kameron De Voogd came off the bench to record 10 points and a season-high and game-high three blocks.
The first quarter went back-and-forth as the score was tied 12-12. The guests led 18-15 after one quarter. The Valiants increased their advantage to eight but the Bloodhounds cut the deficit the deficit to two. With just over two minutes left in the half, John Jay evened the score at 30 apiece. Manhattanville scored the last five points of the period to go up 39-33 at halftime.
Two-and-a-half minutes into the third, the visitors held a 47-36 advantage. John Jay responded on an 8-0 run to trail by three. However, the Valiants ended the quarter scoring 10 of the final 15 points to lead 57-49.
John Jay trimmed the deficit to five but Manhattanville quickly increased the lead back up to 10. That was as close as the Bloodhounds would get as they lost by a final score of 80-66.
John Jay went 20-for-52 (38.5%) from the field, 3-for-9 (33.3%) from behind the arc, and 23-for-33 (69.7%) from the free-throw line.
The Bloodhounds travel to Gwynedd Mercy University on Saturday, November 30, for a non-conference game at 2:00 pm.
