The women's basketball team cruised to a 111-68 win against City College on Friday evening at the Nat Holman Gymnasium. The Bloodhounds improve to 4-5 on the year and 2-0 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Beavers fall to 0-8 and 0-1 in the conference.

After defeating CCNY in the women's soccer championship, sophomore
Katie Healy once again dominated the Beavers with a career-high and game-high 35 points, a game-high 16 rebounds, and a game-high seven steals. Senior
Nyasha Howard picked up her second career triple-double with 28 points, 13 boards, and a career-high and game-high 13 assists.

Lily Rakitzis finished with 17 points, four assists, and a season-high four steals. Sophomore
Kameron De Voogd registered 10 points, five rebounds, and the team's lone block. Senior

CCNY opened the game scoring six of the first eight points but Howard, Rakitzis, and Healy responded with three straight layups to give John Jay their first lead of the contest. With the score knotted at 19, the Bloodhounds scored six straight and held a 33-28 advantage at the end of one.
The Bloodhounds started the second quarter on a 10-0 run with Healy, Howard, Rakitzis, and De Voogd all recording baskets. With 5:28 left in the half, Healy made a layup to put John Jay ahead 52-35. The Bloodhounds went into halftime up 66-40. Healy had 27 points and seven rebounds and Howard tallied 16 points, nine assists, and eight boards.
John Jay increased the lead to 33 in the third on a three-pointer by Albright. Heading into the final period, the Bloodhounds led 84-59. John Jay outscored the Beavers 27-9 in the fourth.
John Jay went 43-for-97 (44.3%) from the field, 5-for-20 (25.0%) from behind the arc, and 20-for-28 (71.4%) from the free-throw line.
The Bloodhounds travel to Rosemont College on Saturday, November 14, for a non-conference match at 1:00 pm.
