The men's volleyball team split a conference tri-match on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Brooklyn College. The Bloodhounds defeated the Brooklyn Bulldogs, 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-22), but then fell to Hunter College, 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-13). John Jay is now 9-12 on the year and 2-3 in the CUNY Athletic Conference.
In the win over Brooklyn, sophomore
Anthony Francois fell three total blocks shy of a double-double with a match-high 12 kills and seven total blocks. Sophomore
Dylan Senkiw dished out 26 assists and sophomore
Rintaro Kato finished with a game-high 15 digs.
Junior
Krystian Surdel and sophomore
Jose Peralta combined for 17 kills, 12 digs, and a pair of service aces. Freshman
Doobin Lee added seven digs and sophomore
Michael Wong had five digs and a match-high three aces.
Against Hunter, Peralta finished with a team-high six kills and Kato registered a game-high 10 digs. Surdel added four kills and Senkiw had 10 assists. Francois recorded a game-high two solo blocks.
John Jay totaled 44 kills, 42 assists, 69 digs, 21 total blocks, and 10 service aces.
The Bloodhounds travel to Aurora, NY for a non-conference tri-match on Saturday, March 16. John Jay will face Lancaster Bible at 2:00 pm, followed by Wells College at 4:00 pm.
