JAMAICA, NY -- The women's volleyball team cruised to a sweep (25-11, 25-15, 25-18) over the York College Cardinals on Thursday evening in Jamaica, NY. The Bloodhounds improve to 7-9 (3-1 CUNYAC) on the season, while York College falls to 0-5 (0-4 CUNYAC).
John Jay dominated all three sets of the match, highlighted from a fantastic set one performance where the Bloodhounds only allowed 11 Cardinal points.Â
Freshman
Gabriella Sloan had a match-high four kills, while freshman
Aniko Ouwendijk,
Amanda Marte,
Johnelle Pierre, and
Faith Harer each had three kills. Freshmen
Taylor Hunt and
Kristin Gretener led John Jay with four digs each, and Hunt chipped in a match-high seven service aces. Freshman
Arnela Radoncic had a career-high 12 assists.Â
The Bloodhounds outhit the Cardinals by over .200 percent, and held a 22-7 advantage in kills in the match.Â
