RIVERDALE, NY -- The women's volleyball team lost two non-conference matches on Saturday afternoon. The Bloodhounds fell to the College of Mount St. Vincent, 3-1 (21-25, 25-20, 25-11, 26-24), and then lost to Ramapo, 3-1 (25-16, 25-18, 22-25, 25-15). John Jay finishes the regular season with an overall record of 7-15.
In the match against the Dolphins of CMSV, freshman
Meghan Smith tallied her third double-double of the season with a game-high 30 assists, 11 digs, five kills, and two service aces. Freshman
Paige Sadowitz led the offense with a career-high and team-high 10 kills. Freshman
Taylor Hunt finished with a team-high 19 digs and freshman
Reilly Catan added eight kills and eight digs. Freshman
Faith Harer had six kills and 11 digs. Freshman
Johnelle Pierre picked up eight kills.
In the match against Ramapo, freshman
Kristin Gretener led the defense tying a career-high 26 digs. Catan and freshman
Amanda Marte combined for 16 kills and 11 digs. Smith dished out a match-high 34 assists and Hunt recorded eight digs.
For the day, John Jay totaled 75 kills, 69 assists, 16 service aces, nine total blocks, and 115 digs.
