NEW YORK, NY -- The John Jay men's basketball team dropped a non-conference contest to Drew University, 69-42, on Homecoming night. The Bloodhounds drop to 0-6 on the season, while the Rangers improve to 4-1 on the year.
Freshman
Jamir Stewart paced the offense with 11 points on 4-7 shooting along with three steals. Junior
Garrison Watkins totaled nine points, three assists, and two rebounds. Freshman
Bleron Lata knocked down two threes, totaling eight points on the night. Junior
Mikhail Leston collected a team-high five boards.
After a tough first half, the Bloodhounds defense tightened up in the second half, holding the Rangers to just 31% shooting, including 30% from beyond the arc. Unfortunately, the deficit was too much to overcome and John Jay was not able to come back and earn the victory.
The Bloodhounds will look to bounce back after the holiday, taking on Maritime College on Tuesday, November 29. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Doghouse.
