Men's Basketball Drops Road Non-Conference Tilt At Clark On Saturday Afternoon

Worcester, MA - Three John Jay men's basketball players reached double-figures on Saturday afternoon but wasn't enough as the Bloodhounds dropped a 92-59 road decision at Clark University. 
 
With the loss, the Bloodhounds fall to 1-9 on the season while the Cougars move to 8-1. John Jay falls to 1-3 all-time Clark with today's decision.
 
Jayson Delgado paced the offense, leading the way with 12 points on an economic 5 of 10 shooting from the floor in 32 minutes of action. 
 
Bleron Lata contributed 11 points in 23 minutes off-the-bench while Corey Jones Jr. finished with 10 points and a team-leading three steals. 
 
Four Cougars reached double-figures, led by Bruce Saintilus, who netted a game-high 23 points on 10 of 16 shooting from the field in 31 minutes of play. Mikey O'Brien was a rebound shy of a double-double, concluding the contest with 15 points and nine rebounds. 
 
Jordan Richard added 14 points in 17 minutes off-the-bench while Reid Neumann rounded out the scoring with 13 points. Kekoa McArdle corralled a game-high 15 rebounds. 
 
The Cougars built a 14-point lead after Neumann converted on a three-pointer at the 13:18 mark of the first half. Joel-Anthony Alleyne put an end to the 9-0 run with a layup in the paint. 
 
The Bloodhounds trimmed the lead back to single digits with 5:36 remaining in the half after Delgado was able to convert a pair from the free-throw line. 
 
Clark outscored John Jay, 11-5, over the final minutes of the first stanza in building a 41-26 halftime lead. 
 
The Cougars built on their lead with seven straight points to commence the second half in pushing the lead to 48-26 after Saintilus was able to complete the four-point play. 
 
The visitors scored eight of the next 11 points as Lata and Jones Jr. were able to connect on back-to-back three-pointers while Delgado capped the run by slashing to the hoop for two after receiving the feed from Lata that trimmed the Cougars' lead to 51-34. 
 
Clark staged a 14-2 run over the next four minutes in building a 68-42 advantage after Isaiah Taylor hit on a three-pointer at the 12:53 mark. 
 
The Cougars outscored the Bloodhounds, 24-17, down-the-stretch, to preserve their eighth win of the season. 
 
The Bloodhounds continue their four-game road trip on Wednesday, December 14, as they will travel to Morristown, NJ to square off against Saint Elizabeth at 7:00 p.m.
