JAMAICA, NY - Men's basketball saw its three-game winning streak snapped with a 84-80 road loss to York College on Thursday night. The Bloodhounds fall to 7-11 (5-4 CUNYAC) on the season, while the Cardinals improve to 6-9 (4-3 CUNYAC) on the year.
The Cardinals led at halftime by 12, 48-36, but John Jay was not out of it. The Bloodhounds cut the deficit to just three points at the 3:15 mark, when a jumper from junior
Angel Rivera made it just a one score game. After trading layups, York nailed a layup with 16 seconds remaining to go up five points which would seal the game.
Rivera poured in a game-high 27 points on 11-18 shooting to lead John Jay. Sophomore
Dan Kenny notched a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore
Garrison Watkins dished out 10 assists to go with five rebounds and four points. Freshman
Frankie Barbato knocked down four three-pointers for 12 points.
John Jay's next game will be on Saturday, February 5 against CCNY at the Doghouse. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m., following the women's game against the Beavers. You can watch via
