JAMAICA, NY -- The men's volleyball team won its second straight match on Tuesday evening, sweeping (25-16, 25-16, 15-17) the York College Cardinals at York Gymnasium. With the win, the Bloodhounds improve to 6-7 (4-2 CUNYAC) on the season, while the Cardinals fall to 0-7 (0-3 CUNYAC) on the year.
You've heard of wire-to-wire wins in basketball, but this was as close to a wire-to-wire win in a volleyball match as you are going to see. The Bloodhounds absolutely dominated this match all the way through, and only trailed the Cardinals twice in the entire match. York scored the very first point of the game to take a 1-0 lead in set one, which was immediately erased by a 4-0 John Jay run, which set the pace for the rest of the match. The Bloodhounds scored the first five points of set two and never trailed, and York had a brief 10-9 lead in set three before the Bloodhounds scored four of the next five points.
