NEW YORK, NY -- The men's volleyball team celebrated senior night in style with an impressive sweep (25-7, 25-13, 25-14) of the York College Cardinals on Thursday night at the Doghouse in what was the team's regular season finale. The Bloodhounds close the regular season with a 9-11 (7-5 CUNYAC) record, while the Cardinals finish the year 0-15 (0-11 CUNYAC).
John Jay opened the match with what might have been the team's most impressive set of the year, crushing York by a score of 25-7. The Bloodhounds never let up the rest of the match, holding the Cardinals to just 26 total points through the next two sets.
Freshman
Kyle Barriffe-Johnson had a match-high nine kills and 11.5 points to lead the Bloodhounds. Freshman
Logan Ramos chipped in seven kills. Sophomore
Manuel Peralta tallied 14 assists, along with a career-high nine service aces and 9.5 points. Freshman
Stephen Daly also had a career-high in service aces, with five.
The Bloodhounds next game will be on Tuesday, April 5 in the opening round of the CUNYAC/Pepsi Men's Volleyball Championship. Opponent, seeding, and location will be announced as soon as it is available.
