NEW YORK, NY -- The men's volleyball team earned its second straight CUNYAC victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating the CCNY Beavers in five sets (25-21, 25-22, 20-25, 21-25, 15-10) at the Doghouse. With the win, John Jay improves to 4-6 (2-1 CUNYAC) on the year, while CCNY falls to 5-3 (1-2 CUNYAC) on the season.

The Bloodhounds seemed to be in control early on, winning the first two sets to go up 2-0 in the match. John Jay led 18-16 in set three and appeared to be on the verge of an easy victory, but the Beavers stormed back to win the third set and rode that momentum into set four and wound up tying the match at 2-2. The Bloodhounds led by three in the early portion of the deciding set when back-to-back kills from freshmen Logan Ramos and Akashdeep Singh extended the lead to five and put John Jay in the drivers seat. The Bloodhounds won the game after a combined block from Singh and freshman Kyle Barriffe-Johnson clinched the fifth set.
