BROOKLYN, NY -- The John Jay women's volleyball team won its third straight match on Wednesday evening, defeating St. Joseph's College -Brooklyn, 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-23).
The Bloodhounds (3-0) jumped out to an early lead, scoring the first three points of the first set, and held that lead for the entirety of game one.before eventually closing it out thanks to back-to-back service aces from sophomore
Faith Harer.
The visitors rode that momentum into set two and won convincingly, by 12 points to be exact. John Jay would finish up the match quick, winning the third set 25-23.
Harer had a match-high 11 kills to go with six service aces and eight digs. Sophomore
Meghan Smith had a double-double with 25 assists and 11 digs. Sophomores
Reilly Catan,
Rylea Sandel, and
Johnelle Pierre had four kills each.
The Bloodhounds have a week off before returning to action on Thursday, September 15 against Lehman College. First serve is set for 7 p.m. in the Bronx, NY.
