Men's Basketball Falls To York On Tuesday Evening

Jamaica, NY - The John Jay men's basketball team fell to the York College Cardinals, 93-69, on Tuesday evening.

With the setback, the Bloodhounds fall to 4-15 overall and 3-5 in CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) play while the Cardinals improve to 6-13 and 5-3 in league action.

Isaac Holmes led the way for the Bloodhounds with a game-high 27 points on a 10 of 16 shooting from the field. The East Brunswick, NJ native grabbed a team-high five rebounds while recording four steals in 32 minutes of play. Garrison Watkins netted 15 points on 6 of 12 while hitting on 3 of 4 from the outside in 30 minutes of action.

Terrell Fullerton paced three York players in double-figures, as the CUNYAC Player of the Week netted 19 points on 7 of 12 shooting. He also dished out five helpers in 27 minutes. Mert Zor added 16 points on 6 of 7 from the field while hitting on 4 of 5 from the outside in 17 minutes. Devine Chisholm contributed 13 points on 3 of 6 shooting, hitting on 2 of 4 from three-point range in 21 minutes of play.

Both teams traded baskets early in the contest before York outscored John Jay, 22-12, in building a 32-18 advantage following a pair of made free throws from Tavon Price. The Cardinals continued to build upon their lead, closing out the half with a 21-11 run despite Adrian Kopec hitting a three-pointer for the visitors just before time dwindled down for the half.

York took their largest lead of the contest at the 6:54 mark, following two made free-throws by Chisholm. The Bloodhounds closed out the contest on a 20-12 run of their own, with Holmes accounting for ten of the 20 points during the run.

John Jay returns home on Saturday, January 28 as they will square off against Hunter at 3:00 p.m.
