Wilkes-Barre, PA - The men's volleyball split a non-conference tri-match on Sunday afternoon. The Bloodhounds swept Bryn Athyn, 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-20), but then fell to Wilkes, 3-1 (25-17, 20-25, 25-21, 25-13). John Jay is now 3-2 on the season.
In the match against the Lions of Bryn Athyn, junior
Akashdeep Singh tallied a game-high 11 kills. Junior
Kyle Barriffe Johnson recorded a match-high 14.5 points courtesy of a season-high nine kills, three aces, and a season-high and game-high three blocks. Freshman
Maxwell Law dished out a season-high and match-high 20 assists to go along with six digs. Freshman
Rudy Janga added a career-high eight kills and freshman
Jeferson Avila added seven kills and six digs.Â
In the match against Wilkes, Singh once again led the offense with a season-high and game-high 16 kills and five digs. Junior
Logan Ramos registered 11 kills and junior
Alex Bridgelall notched a match-high 38 assists, five digs, and two service aces. Senior
Jack Nugent had six kills, four digs, and two total blocks.Â
For the day, John Jay totaled 63 kills, 61 assists, seven total blocks, five service aces, and 55 digs.Â
The Bloodhounds return to the Doghouse on Tuesday, February 14, for a non-conference tilt against Yeshiva University. First serve is set for 7:00 pm.Â
