New York, NY - The men's volleyball team swept City College, 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-20), on Tuesday evening at the Nat Holman Gymnasium. The Bloodhounds improve to 7-5 overall and 2-1 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Beavers fall to 6-2 on the season and 1-2 in the conference. John Jay is now 11-7 all-time against CCNY and won 11 of their last 13 contests.

Kyle Barriffe Johnson led the John Jay offense with a match-high 12.5 points, game-high nine kills, and a match-high four total blocks including three solo. Senior
Jack Nugent contributed with six kills and a pair of solo blocks. Junior
Logan Ramos finished with five kills, a team-high seven digs, and two service aces.

Maxwell Law tallied 10 assists each. Bridgelall, along with junior
Bryce Glasper, registered six digs apiece. Freshman Jeferon Avila added four kills and five digs.
The first set went back-and-forth as CCNY led 13-10. The Bloodhounds recorded four straight points to regain the lead. With the score knotted at 19 apiece, John Jay ended the period on a 6-2 run to take the opening set. Just like the first, both teams exchanged points in the second as the score was tied 11-11. The Bloodhounds scored seven of the next nine points to hold a 18-13 advantage. The Beavers stormed back on a 4-0 run to cut the deficit to 18-17. John Jay responded with four straight and would go on to capture the set, 25-21, to increase their lead to 2-0.
Leading 5-4 in the third, John Jay put together three straight points but CCNY followed on a 5-1 run to even the score at 9-9. With the Bloodhounds trailing 14-13, John Jay broke open the period on a 7-0 run to eventually complete the match sweep.
The Bloodhounds travel to Brooklyn, NY on Thursday, March 2, to take on Pratt Institute. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
