Tonight's victory moves John Jay to 2-1 overall on the season while extending their win streak over the Privateers to eight straight.

How It Happened
Set One | John Jay never trailed in the night's opening set, building an 11-2 advantage thanks to three straight service aces from Kristin Gretener. A kill from Aniko Ouwendijk doubled up the lead, 14-7, before closing out the first set on a 10-4 run in taking the first set victory.

Set Two | The Bloodhounds continued to build upon their early momentum, racing out to a 6-2 lead thanks to a kill from Faith Harer from Gretener. The visiting Privateers rallied, trimming the lead down to three, 8-5, thanks to a kill from Jessica Mele. A 12-6 outburst by the home team upped the lead to 20-10, as Reilly Catan notched the kill. With Taylor Hunt serving, Gretener kill back-to-back rallies before sealing the set win with an ace of her own.

Set Three | In the third set, John Jay raced out to a 7-1 advantage after a kill from newcomer Joviana Bennett. Maritime closed the game with a 6-2 run of their own, as they trailed 10-7. The Bloodhounds regrouped, in large part due to a 10-1 run capped by an ace from Malia Reyes. John Jay scored five of the final eight points en route to a 25-12 victory.
