Men's Volleyball Blanks York On The Road On Tuesday Evening

Jamaica, NY - The John Jay men's volleyball team got back in the win column on Tuesday evening, as the Bloodhounds picked up their 11th win of the season, defeating the York College Cardinals, 3-0 (25-19; 25-18; 25-12). 
 
John Jay stands at 11-5; 5-2 in league play while the Cardinals falter toe 1-10 and 1-6 in the conference. 
 
Logan Ramos recorded his fourth double-double of the season, as he finished with a team-leading 10 kills, three aces and 13 digs on the evening. Micah Rossman produced a team-best 19 digs to go along with three kills and an assist. Fellow newcomer Christian Perea recorded a career-best 27 assists while notching six digs in the victory. 

David Heyliger led York with 13 kills and added seven digs. Ahmed Algendy finished the night with 14 digs while Stanley Sanchez had 20 assists to pace York. 
 
First Set - York opened the first set with a two point lead before the Bloodhounds answered back with six straight points. The Cardinals kept it close, trailing 9-8 following a kill from Vincent Agokei. The visitors went ahead 20-15 after an 11-7 run capped by a Ramos ace. Steven Ajazi recorded the kill from Perea giving the Bloodhounds the first point of the match. 
 
Second Set - The Bloodhounds took an early 5-3 advantage following a service error from Marvin Mondesir. John Jay outscored York, 13-7, in building a 18-10, as Ajazi recorded the ace. The Cardinals got to within seven, 24-18, following a service error but for the second straight set, Ajazi killed the rally as John Jay went ahead by two. 
 
Third Set - The two teams traded points, tied at 2-2, 3-3 and 4-4 before York took a 5-4 lead following an attack error by Sebastian Rodriguez. The Bloodhounds regained the composure, outscoring York, 21-7, from the point as Ramos killed the rallied to preserve the shutout. In that third set, the Bloodhounds hit .269 and only committing two attack errors during the set. 

John Jay returns to the Doghouse on Thursday, March 14, as they welcome the Lehman College Lightning for a 6:00 p.m. first-serve.
