Boston, MA - The John Jay men's basketball team opened the season by participating in the Emmanuel College Season Tip-Off, as the Bloodhounds opened the 2025-26 season against the Endicott Gulls.

Senior guard Jamir Stewart paced the John Jay offense with 23 points, but it was not enough as the Bloodhounds dropped a 92-66 decision on Friday night.

Stewart connected on 5 of 17 from the field and hit on 9 of 13 from the free-throw line while grabbing four rebounds and three steals in 35 minutes of work.

The Bloodhounds held a slim 9-7 advantage following a three-pointer from Stewart before an 8-0 run increased Endicott's lead to 15-9. John Jay answered back with a 13-3 burst, capped by an Alsseny Diallo layup that forced the Gulls to call for time.

The visitors went ahead 32-29 after Stewart completed the three-point play from the line, which ignited a 12-3 run by Endicott to close the half leading by six, 41-35.

When play resumed, John Jay cut the deficit to four, 46-42, after Stewart hit on another three-pointer five minutes into the half.
