Men's Basketball Falters At Emmanuel On Saturday Evening

Boston, MA - The John Jay men's basketball team dropped its final game in Massachusetts, falling to Emmanuel, 78-48.
 
The Bloodhounds fall to 0-2 while the Saints move to 1-1 on the young season.
 
Three Bloodhounds finished in double-figures, led by Keyshawn Miller, who netted 12 points and grabbed six rebounds. Adrian Kopec chipped in 11 points while Jamir Stewart had 10 points. Alsseny Diallo led the team with eight rebounds.
 
The Saints were led by Danny Adams, who finished with a game-high 18 points. Mahari Guerrier notched a double-double, posting 15 points and grabbing a game-high 18 rebounds. Connor Hanavan scored 15 points.
 
John Jay opened the game on a 7-3 run with Stewart hitting a pair of three-pointers. Ronnie McIntyre drilled a trifecta that gave the lead back to John Jay at 15-14.
 
Emmanuel staged an 11-2 run, capped by a Hanavan triple that increased the Saints' lead to 25-17. The Saints continued to build upon the momentum, utilizing a 16-2 burst to elevate the lead to 41-21 on a Hanavan layup.
 
With time winding down in the first half, Kopec converted on a layup in the paint as the Bloodhounds trailed 41-27 heading into the break.
 
When play resumed, the Bloodhounds trimmed the deficit down to 43-32 following Miller completing the three-point play from the line.
 
Emmanuel created separation from John Jay with 7:23 left to play, closing out the contest on a 20-2 run to seal their first win of the season.
 
John Jay shot 32.1 percent from the field while Emmanuel converted on 45.6 percent. The Saints hit on 34.6 percent from the outside (9 of 26) while the Bloodhounds only hit on 4 of 12 (33.3%).
 
John Jay will head to Princeton, NJ, for an exhibition contest with the Ivy League's Princeton Tigers. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
