New York, NY - The John Jay men's volleyball team remained perfect at The Doghouse, as the Bloodhounds defeated the visiting Yeshiva University Maccabees, 3-0 (25-3; 25-8, 25-16).

Alex Bridgelall finished with a double-double, finishing with a team-leading ten kills and 12 assists while notching three digs and two aces. Newcomer
Joshua Acevedo tallied five kills and a career-high four aces.
Omar Alaoui registered a game-high seven aces while adding two kills and a dig.Â
Nick Fuentes logged five aces in his lone set.
Matthew Vong and
Eugene Villarruz each led the way with four digs.
Yeshiva's Amiti Trabelsi had two digs and a kill for the visitors.
John Jay commenced the set with seven straight points, as
Nick Fuentes rattled off four consecutive aces before the visiting Maccabees had their first kill of the match from Massimo Bertini as the Bloodhounds led 10-2.
Omar Alaoui led the way with seven aces and two kills in the opening set, while Fuentes added five aces. The Bloodhounds hit a robust .500 in the opening set, tallying 13 aces and four assists.
Acevedo recorded a kill that kickstarted a 4-1 burst by the Bloodhounds, highlighted by an ace from
Matthew Vong. John Jay carried that momentum to an 8-2 lead as
Sebastian Rodriguez notched the kill. From that point, the Bloodhounds utilized a 16-5 run to close the set, as Acevedo recorded back-to-back aces for the set winner.
John Jay improved their hitting in the second set, finishing at .538, as they finished with four aces and 17 kills in the second set.
The two teams exchanged points early in the third set, 3-3, as Zanvy Lesnoy recorded the ace. John Jay answered back with a 13-2 run, capped by a block from
Jimmy Thinlay and Ajazi that made it 16-5 in favor of the Bloodhounds.
The visitors mounted a comeback, outscoring John Jay, 10-7, as two straight attack errors by the home team closed the gap to 23-15. Thinlay posted the kill before a mishit by Yeshiva closed out the match.
The Bloodhounds finished with 24 aces, the second-highest total for team aces in a three-set match this season, one short of Bethany, who posted 25 against Carlow on January 23.
