New York, NY - The John Jay men's basketball team moved to the top of the CUNYAC standings as they outlasted the Lehman College Lightning, 90-85, in a playoff-type atmosphere on Senior Night on Wednesday at The Doghouse.

The Bloodhounds move to 17-6 overall and 10-2 in league play. Lehman is also 10-2 and stands at 16-7 overall. The two teams and Baruch are tied at 10-2, heading into the final two games of the 2024-25 regular season.

Before the start of the contest, the Bloodhounds recognized their 2025 Senior Class - team manager Elissa Hill, Elijah Holmes, Jeremiah Cardi, Emmanuel Adenekan, TJ Chisolm, Isaac Holmes and Jordan Evelyn

Four Bloodhounds finished in double-figures, led by Keyshawn Miller, who notched his eighth 20-point outing of the season, finishing with 23 points on an effective 8 of 13 shooting from the floor, which included a 3 of 6 display from three-point range. The Yonkers, NY native filled up the stat sheet, finishing with a team-leading eight boards and seven steals while adding two blocks in 36 minutes.

Senior guard Jordan Evelyn added 19 points on 6 of 9 shooting while converting 7 of 8 from the free-throw line. The Hempstead, NY native dished out a team-best five assists. Junior Jamir Stewart and senior TJ Chisolm contributed 18 and 12 points, respectively, with Stewart hitting 8 of 9 from the line and Chisolm drilling three trifectas.

Lehman had five players reach double-figures, led by Lasana Camara, who tallied a game-high 28 points on 8 of 12 shooting. He added 15 rebounds, three blocks and three steals and also hit on a perfect 10 of 10 at the line. Kai Parris chipped in 18 points. Francisco Demers and Kofi Mends each had 11 point while Brandon Marks had 10.

Lehman jumped out to 7-0 lead, capped by a Marks three-pointer before Evelyn drove the lane and completed the three-point play. The Bloodhounds scored 12 of the next 20 points over the five-minute span to tie the game at 15 as Jeremiah Cardi made the backend of a two-shot foul at 11:34 left. Both teams continued to trade baskets with Evelyn soaring to the goal to put John Jay up 28-23 with 6:16 left before the half. Demers cut the deficit to two on a three-pointer off the feed from Marks.

Lehman used a mini 7-2 run to go ahead by three, 33-30, as Parris drew the foul and made the free throw. The Bloodhounds closed out the half on a 16-5 run, holding the Lightning to just one made field goal over the final 3:28. Cardi hit the jumper in the paint, giving John Jay a 46-38 lead.

The second half of this action-packed contest picked up midway through the stanza. Camara banked in a layup that closed the gap to three, 56-53 before Stewart hit a pull-up jumper on the other end.
