Brooklyn, NY - Following a slow start to the first half, the defending CUNYAC men's basketball champions, the John Jay men's basketball team, shot close to 50.0 percent in the second while holding the Brooklyn College Bulldogs to just 21.2 percent as the Bloodhounds secured their second straight league victory, 56-43, on Friday evening.
The Bloodhounds had three players score in double-figures, led by
Jamir Stewart, who registered his first career double-double. The senior guard netted a game-high 22 points on 8 of 19 shooting while converting 4 of 12 from the outside and pulling down a career-high ten rebounds.

Keyshawn Miller registered his fifth double-double of the season, finishing with 13 points on 5 of 9 shooting while grabbing a game-best 13 rebounds. The Yonkers, NY native added a team-high four steals, three assists, and a block.
Aidony Nivar netted ten points and five rebounds.
Brooklyn had three players score eight points: Tyler Gordon, Abdoulaye Gueye, and Altin Kukaj on a combined 7 of 24 from the field and 5 of 16 from the outside. Gordon led the way with 11 rebounds.
Brooklyn opened the game with a driving layup from D'Aze Hunter. The Bloodhounds responded with a 19-9 burst as Stewart was the catalyst, scoring ten of the 19 points before Nivar capped the run with a three-pointer of his own to make it 19-11 in favor of the visitors.
The Bulldogs went on a run of their own, sparking a 13-2 outburst that gave them a 24-21 lead following a pull-up jumper from Muneer Ibrahem with 2:27 left to play in the opening half.
Hunter got the scoring going in the second half for the Bulldogs, converting on a driving layup. Joe Charles hit one of two from the free-throw line, as Brooklyn claimed a 29-25 lead.
John Jay turned its fortune around, embarking on a lengthy 22-8 run, over a near 12-minute stretch as the Bloodhounds took a 47-37 lead.
John Jay converted on 50.0 percent during the run (8 of 16) while hitting 3 of 10 from the outside. The Bulldogs were stifled from the field, going 2 of 18 during the Bloodhounds' run while hitting 1 of 8 from the outside. Gordon stopped the run with a jumper following a Charles missed layup.
John Jay finished the game on a 9-4 run as the defending champions secured their second straight conference win.
For the game, John Jay hit on 38.5 percent from the floor while limiting Brooklyn to just 26.2 percent. The Bloodhounds held a slim 41-38 edge on the boards, despite being outrebounded on the offensive glass (11-5).
