Men's Tennis Defeats Western Connecticut to Pick Up Third Win of Season

Box Score The men's tennis team defeated Western Connecticut, 5-4, on Thursday afternoon on the campus of Queens College. The Bloodhounds improve to 3-8 on the year. The Colonials drop to 2-5 overall. 

John Jay took an early 2-1 lead after doubles play. The tandem of senior Yevgeniy Remennik and junior Richard Mills won at number one, 8-2. At the number two spot, the duo of senior Luis Chirinos and freshman Oscar Wu defeated their opponent, 8-6. 

In singles, the Bloodhounds picked up wins at one, two, and three. Remennik won at the top spot by a score of 7-6, 6-0. Mills followed that up with a win at number two, 6-0, 6-2. John Jay's final win came at three when Chirinos won 6-1, 6-0. 

The Bloodhounds host York College on Saturday, April 18, for a conference match at 1 p.m.
